While entering tasks in MS Project, we need to enter these in Auto Schedule Mode. However, the default Scheduling Mode in MS Project is Manual. Therefore, you have to manually change the mode to Auto Schedule for every activity before entering the tasks, and you have to do it every time you create a new project.
It will be easier and quicker to start entering tasks in without needing to change the mode to Auto Schedule manually, in the beginning. We can achieve that by changing the setting. There are two methods to do this:
Method 1: Change Scheduling Mode from Options
Step 1: Click on 'File' menu and then Options
Step 2: Click on the 'Schedule' tab at the left.
Step 3: Under 'Scheduling options for this project', click the drop-down option 'New tasks created', and select 'Auto Scheduled'
Method 2: Change Mode from the 'Task' Ribbon
On the 'Task' ribbon, in the middle, there is a button named 'Mode', click on this button and select 'Auto Schedule'
That's it. Now when you will enter tasks, these will be entered with Auto Schedule mode.
